Aggregate sizes regulate the microbial community patterns in sandy soil profile

چکیده

Soil microorganisms play a key role in the function of soil ecosystem, yet our knowledge about how microbial communities respond to typically sandy environmental properties along profile is still insufficient. We investigated community patterns from top (0–20 cm) clay-layer (>80 typical soils three regions China with different levels precipitation, including Lishu County Jilin Province (LS), Langfang City Hebei (LF) and Zhengzhou Henan (ZZ). Our findings showed that small-size aggregates (<0.5 mm) rather than large ones (⩾ 0.5 dominated profile. The relative abundances Actinobacteria, Crenarchaeota Firmicutes were highly related aggregate proportions deep soil. network analysis revealed distinct among modules, evidencing niche differentiation keystone species OTU_11292 was observed having migrated clearly into other module Different roles OTU_30 (belonging Gemmatimonadetes) processes might partly explain distribution between top- soils. These provided new insights candidate mechanisms diversity maintenance patterning soils, which necessary for better understanding ecological rules guiding long-term agricultural practice.

Microbial Community Composition as Affected by Dryland Cropping Systems and Tillage in a Semiarid Sandy Soil

This study evaluated microbial communities of soil (0–10 cm) as affected by dryland cropping systems under different tillage practices after 5 years. The soil type was an Olton sandy loam with an average of 16.4% clay, 67.6% sand and 0.65 g kg of organic matter (OM). The cropping systems evaluated were grain sorghum (Sorghum bicolor L.)— cotton (Gossypium hirsutum) (Srg-Ct), cotton-winter rye (...

Load Settlement Behaviour of Sandy Soil Blended with Coarse Aggregate

The structures of every kind rest on the soil under laying them. The stability of these structures depends upon the load carrying capacity of the soil. The bearing capacity of soil also depends upon the quantum of coarser particles presents in it. The plate load test is used for the design of footing. Therefore, in the present investigation, the plate load tests were conducted to study the sand...

Spatial structure of the microbial community in sandy carbonate sediment

The environmental conditions in permeable carbonate sands are in many ways different from those in fine-grained sediments, but little is known about how this affects the structure and composition of the microbial community. We studied the microbial community structure in relation to the geochemical zonation within a 4 m2 patch of a sandy carbonate sediment in Kane’ohe Bay, O’ahu, Hawaii. Porewa...

Soil microbial community successional patterns during forest ecosystem restoration.

Soil microbial community characterization is increasingly being used to determine the responses of soils to stress and disturbances and to assess ecosystem sustainability. However, there is little experimental evidence to indicate that predictable patterns in microbial community structure or composition occur during secondary succession or ecosystem restoration. This study utilized a chronosequ...

Effect of silver nano-particles on soil microbial growth, activity and community diversity in a sandy loam soil.

Silver nano-particles (AgNPs) are widely used in a range of consumer products as a result of their antimicrobial properties. Given the broad spectrum of uses, AgNPs have the potential for being released to the environment. As a result, environmental risks associated with AgNPs need to be assessed to aid in the development of regulatory guidelines. Research was performed to assess the effects of...
